Intent

Books is a private reading-library system built from a fork of crocodilestick/calibre-web-automated. The project is less about a public catalog and more about testing whether an AI-assisted workflow can take an existing self-hosted app through Lightsail / AWS deployment, hardening, backups, and maintenance.

System

The implementation wraps the forked library app with Docker Compose, Caddy, AWS Lightsail provisioning, DNS setup, migration scripts, validation checks, and operational runbooks. Private content stays behind login; the portfolio entry shows the deployment and maintenance system around it.

Current direction

The public artifact is intentionally privacy-safe. The useful evidence is the deployment path: source fork, infrastructure setup, restore checks, uptime practices, and maintenance flows rather than exposed book records or private thumbnails.
